It’s so nice to find something refreshing yet nutritious on a hot August afternoon! I am enjoying this wonderful smoothie as I write this post today, and it’s delicious. The addition of basil might seem strange, but it really adds a nice hint of “fresh” that feels cooling on a day like this. As a variation, you could also use mint leaves which would be equally amazing!
Whip up in a snap
Ingredients
2 medium frozen bananas
1 cup frozen mango
2 fresh Medjool dates (pitted)
1/2 Tbsp raw honey
2 small basil leaves (plus extra for garnish)
Filtered water to desired consistency
Directions
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend thoroughly adding cold water as needed to desired consistency. Pour into glass and garnish with an additional basil leaf.
