We started planning for a kitchen renovation a few months in advance. While the whole project took months longer than we expected, in the end it turned out to be exactly what we had hoped. See below for the before and after photos.

From planning to finished…

I started the project by selecting a (dream kitchen) wish-list of items, and made a style/products board using Canva.

Kitchen Before Photos

While our original kitchen was NOT terrible, it was looking tired and dated. Between the red oak floors, wood cabinets, and chairs, there was TOO much orange. Oxidation had clearly taken center stage. It was time for an uplift and fulfilling the dream of a fresh white kitchen with cabinets to the ceiling.

As the air turns crisp and the season takes full b As the air turns crisp and the season takes full breath, I am reminded of the gentle pulse which sweeps us towards another New England winter.  The trees begin to bare revealing their delicate silhouette; nestling beneath the surface for a long winters rest.

We can learn from the trees. We can pause and take a moment to reflect and rest. Although the winters here can be long and cold, I'd miss them if they ceased. I'd miss the blessed opportunity to rest. Always reminding myself that Autumn, now transitioning to the pause of winter, is also God's gentle and unceasing promise of spring.

The famous scripture verse Psalm 23:2-3 reminds me of God's intention that we remember to rest and renew. And as always, God speaks to us through His creation using nature to guide and inspire.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.

Psalm 23:2-3
